BIRTHDAY WISH LIST

Why does it feel like the years go by faster as you get older? It’s September. S E P T E M B E R. Am I only the one going a bit mad about this? I love autumn and especially the orange and red leaves surrounding every corner. I really can’t wait till the end of this month when the change of colours outside is slowly appearing! Talking about getting older, September also means that my birthday is fast approaching. My only plan for my special day is to eat a ridiculous amount of cake. Eat your gettig-older-sorrows away! Just kidding. A little bit. Down below are five of my birthday wishes. Usually my wishes only consist of books but I have tried to be more creative this year. {Sorry, pictures will perhaps come soon! I'm just on my way out right now.}

1. Olympus Pen E-P5/Olympus Pen E-PL7. I have been dreaming about owning one of these darlings for a very long time now. We have two DSLRs at home and loving them both but they are just too big to take with me every day. I want something which I can quickly grab and put in my schoolbag or in a purse before heading out. I love having a camera with me all the time and even though my mobile phone camera is doing an okay job I just want the real deal. I could also just wish for a compact camera but handed one of those I have a tendency to destroy them in some peculiar way. So yes, a CSC is perfect for me and these models are just absolute gorgeous.

2. Concert tickets. There are so many great artist/bands visiting Copenhagen and oh I wish I had the money to see them all. Shall I list them all for you: Passenger, Ed Sheeran, alt-J, James Vincent McMorrow, Iron & Wine, Taking Back Sunday and George Ezra. I love going to concerts and the gift of an experience is the best gift you can give.

3. ILVA Polo sofa. We really don't need a new sofa but I want to redecorate our home. My taste has changed slightly since we moved in and I can’t keep my eyes off this sofa.

4. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This have been raved about and gushed for everywhere and I simply want its magic.

5. ILVA Tree tree bookcase. We have two bookshelves at home which we have named Dødsreolerne {The bookshelves of Death} because seriously the unfortunate will soon happen where they will collapse and somebody is going down along with the fall. It’s almost scary to pass by the bookshelves because they will tell you with creaky sounds how unstable they are. Yes, we really need new racks and the Tree tree bookshelves from ILVA have the modern retro design I'm so in love with.

SUMMER READS

I am enjoying my holiday and spending a lot of my free time reading my books. Finally! On exam periods I try not to pick up a book of my choice because I don’t want to get distracted. Oh my, how I missed reading books. It’s about to go down. I usually don’t read several books at the same time because I forget so quickly but I am just too excited. Oh yeah! Here are my five summer reads.
CREATIVE CONFIDENCE’ by Tom Kelley and David Kelley. This book is inspiring, informative and motivating. Need to boost your creativity? I think this book will help and guide you on how to think differently and creatively.
graphic design school’ by David Dabner. I got this book for my birthday ages ago. My best friend and I were talking about our dream jobs and I said that I wanted to work as a graphic designer. For my birthday that year I got this book from her. This book is a good introduction to graphic design and as a Multimedia Design student I thought it wouldn’t hurt to reread it again. It explains in a simple way the fundamentals such as layout, colours, composition and typography.
STEN SAKS PAPIR’ by Naja Marie Aidt. Aidt is my favourite Danish author and her short stories are the best I have ever read. It is because of her I began writing my own short stories. ‘STEN SAKS PAPIR’ is her first novel and I wonder if it is as raw and bizarre as her short stories.
BROOKLYN MAKERS’ by Jennifer Causey. Rereading this book because creative people are inspiring and so are the pictures in this book. Causey interviews thirty craftspeople living in Brooklyn who will make you jealous when you read what they do for a living.
Lynch on Lynch’ by Chris Rodley. I am a huge fan of David Lynch so of course this book is on my list. I have a habit to write down words and sentences I find inspiring and I guess this is why I haven’t finished this book yet. My notebook is full of words and quotes from this interview book.

TWO THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN

Is it too late for me to say ”Happy New Year”? Time flies by so quickly! I actually did mean to blog on the very first day of this year. I did start writing on the post but I simply just forgot to get back at it. The post was just a bit of rambling of how my year was in 2013. To be honest 2013 was a bit of a disappointment so I guess it was all depressing to read anyway. Now that we are pass 2013 and in the very end of May I seem to have thrown most of all the negative vibes off my shoulders. It wasn’t all bad and I got some very dear memories from 2013 too. One of my most favourite memory and event from last year was the Lumineers concert. As I said at my previous post, my boyfriend and I went to see The Lumineers at Vega. They are one of my favourite bands and I was so excited to see them live. The concert was amazing, intimate, and absolutely fantastic – and we were front row! Now picture your boyfriend wrapping his arms around you and your favourite band decides to go closer to us audience because they want to sing without any microphones so it would be more authentic – and hey, they also sing your favourite song from their album too. No words can really fully describe that moment. It was just so pure.

Now we are in year 2014 and I cannot believe we are entering June in an hour. 2014 has been good till now. Quite busy these past few weeks because I am in the middle of doing an exam project. I am always a bit of a wreck on exam periods. Nothing new under the sun since I have exam anxiety. Anyway I just wanted to say hello, I’m {perhaps} back. I really want to do more catching up right now but I have to get back to the exam project. Priorities, you know. By the way I imported some old posts from my other blogs. I wanted to just have one blog instead of seven {?!} with all my posts. Most of my old posts are private but there are some for your eyes to see too. Okay, I really have to go now. I promise to catch up real soon. Bye!
